A family mountain resort in the heart of the Blue Ridge, just outside Asheville.
Whispering Pines takes its name from the sound the wind makes through the tall pines surrounding the property. It's a fitting name: the resort sits at the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains, just off Highway 25, about two miles outside Asheville, North Carolina.
We're around an hour's drive from Pretoria and two hours from Johannesburg — close enough for a quick weekend escape, far enough to properly switch off.
Whispering Pines is family and pet friendly, with enough on-site activities that everyone — from toddlers to grandparents — finds their own way to relax. Two swimming pools, a farmyard, fishing dam, putt-putt, trampoline and jungle gym keep the kids busy, while the licensed bar's cocktail pool is where the adults tend to end up.
Please note: the minimum number of adults per camping stand is 4 (this doesn't apply to tent houses). If you're not sure your group fits the requirement, give us a call before booking.
A quick look at the resort — the pines, the mountain setting, and what a weekend here actually feels like.
